Singapore Polytechnic optometry students to train with cutting-edge technology

24 Jun 2023

The Straits Times, 24 June 2023 – SP has partnered with two global vision care leaders, EssilorLuxottica and Zeiss, to introduce Singapore’s first integrated optometry suite to the SP Optometry Centre (SPOC), to enhance the training of its optometry students. With practical and hands-on approaches, SP hopes its optometry students will be more industry-ready and familiar with the latest technology in myopia management upon graduation. SP said that these new technologies and training opportunities will further elevate and build on SP’s longstanding optometry programme, which began in 1994, to deliver the best-in-class care for myopia patients and equip students with the relevant knowledge and skills to advance in their optometry careers. SP Diploma in Optometry second year student Ri Thant Audrey shared that she is confident that the training at SPOC will enable her to work as an optometrist after graduation.
