SP Food Science & Technology course establishes new strategic partnerships

21 Oct 2022

Singapore Polytechnic (SP) established two new strategic partnerships to support industry presence in SP and talent pipeline development in Plant-based Innovation in Singapore.

On 3 Oct 2022, a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) was inked between SP and Biocreation SG Pte Ltd through a simple signing ceremony at the School of Chemical & Life Sciences (CLS). This collaboration is the start of our efforts to ramp up our capabilities in precision fermentation and developing products that are more sustainable. This will be achieved through a co-located laboratory that will house student projects, internship, staff attachment, seminars and workshops.

On 20 Oct 2022, another Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between SP and Good Food Institute, an international non-profit organisation with a main mission is to develop a roadmap for sustainable, secure and alternative protein supply. With this MoU, we are committed to work closely with like-minded stakeholders from the industry e.g. Buhler, NUS, SIT, SG Protein and Kerry, on a TalentSprint Initiative to build talent pool to serve the growing alternative protein innovation in Singapore and the region. With this network of collaborations, we are excited to be one of the first to launch specifically tailored alternative protein-related training programmes for practitioners in the near future.
