SP Optometry Team raises eye care awareness at NUS Health Care Festival

A team of SP Optometry (DOPT) staff and students raised eye care awareness and provided eye care tips to hundreds of National University of Singapore (NUS) staff during 'Feel Good Friday – Health Care Festival' on 26 May 2023.

The NUS-organised festival served as a platform for healthcare providers to share valuable insights with their staff about different aspects of well-being. The SP Optometry team was invited to represent the sense of sight, and they used visual impairment simulation goggles to demonstrate the impact of vision loss. They also shared their expertise about myopia, cataract, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy, emphasizing the need for regular eye examinations. Certain sight-threatening eye diseases, which may not exhibit symptoms in their early stages, can be detected and treated promptly to prevent potential vision loss while safeguarding long-term eye health.
