DCEB STUDENTS WIN TOP PRIZES AT BCA’S PRODUCTIVITY RACE 2014

 

Four budding DCEB students (Yeo Chee Cong, Brian Ang, Teo Yong Chian and Roger Koh) participated in the Productivity Race at Singapore Expo on Oct 16 and emerged as the champion with a prize money of $2,000. The race was part of the key highlights of Singapore Construction Productivity Week (SCPW) 2014 which was organised by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA). The Productivity Race aims to give tertiary students a chance to apply their knowledge of construction-productivity concepts; impart learning of productivity concepts in an “informal” setting; and identifies productive technologies and systems commonly adopted in built environment sector.

 

The second and third prizes also went to DCEB students carrying prize money of $1,500 and $1,000 respectively. About140 students in 29 teams from the Singapore Polytechnic, BCA Academy and other tertiary institutions signed up for the Productivity Race. The event was graced by Minister of State, Ministry of National Development & Ministry of Defence and Mayor, South East District, Dr Mohamad Maliki Osman. Dr Maliki also took part in the Race with Singapore Polytechnic student team.

 

DCEB student, Ding Zichen won 2nd prize for the BIM Shootout competition and two DEWT students (Wang Shan and Ho Xiang Tian) also won top two prizes (a mini iPad and 3D2N at RWS) of Lucky Draws.
