Chin Zhao Hui, Victor

Coming from a family of SP alumni, I had heard numerous inspiring stories about SP, assuring me that I, too, would have a fulfilling experience there. After attending the 2019 SPOH event, my interest was piqued in the study of landscape architecture, leading me to join the Diploma in Landscape Architecture (DLA).

Throughout my three years in DLA, I gained invaluable experiences and formed lifelong friendships. DLA provided me with opportunities to get closer to my dream, allowing me to present my projects to esteemed statutory boards such as NParks, JTC, and URA. Collaborating with my peers, lecturers, and industry professionals to exchange ideas and brainstorm projects was truly enjoyable, as it constantly exposed me to new knowledge and skills. As a natural introvert, I am grateful for these events that helped me develop the courage to step out of my comfort zone.

My internship at the Housing & Development Board (HDB) was undeniably rewarding. From creating educational signages to working on rain gardens, I was able to apply my knowledge beyond the confines of the classroom and engage in real projects. The site visits were eye-opening adventures, providing me with a glimpse into the daily realities of the job.

Lastly, my SP journey would not have been the same without the guidance and support of my lecturers. Their unwavering commitment to pushing us beyond our limits and helping us unleash our boundless potential was truly remarkable. I thoroughly enjoyed and will always cherish the fruitful time I spent at SP.
