I first discovered the Diploma in Landscape Architecture (DLA) through the SP website and planned to give it a try because I had a keen interest in designing. I was fond of the lush greenery in Singapore and wanted to integrate users and nature as a move to draw them closer. The course and curriculum in DLA was a good platform for me to express those ideas and design concepts.

DLA had offered me a vast amount of learning opportunities, ranging from local site visits of completed projects, informative workshops and seminars, to overseas trips to Taman Negara, Malaysia and Melbourne, Australia. My best experience in this course was the 3-month internship program in a local landscape firm, DP Green. It broadened my perspective of the real world and better prepared me for the working society. I had learnt a lot during that period, such as how to work with other professionals and enhance my technical software skills. I managed to cope with, and overcome some of the challenges along the way too.
