What is the SP-NTU Accelerated Pathway Programme (SP-NTU APP)?

The SP-NTU APP allows eligible students from the Singapore Polytechnic, Diploma in Civil Engineering (SP DCE) to take three courses offered by Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in their final semester with SP (Year-3 Semester-2) in place of three SP School Elective modules. For each completed NTU course, the relevant credit and grade will be mapped to the SP Examination Grading System and reflected in the final transcript of the student’s diploma course.

 

Who are eligible?

All DCE students, from Cohort 2023 onwards, who meet NTU’s criteria will be eligible to apply.

 

What are the benefits?

  • Early exposure to NTU courses

SP-NTU APP students will take NTU courses in Year-3 Semester-2 of their Diploma course.

  • Experience University Life while being a student with DCE

SP-NTU APP students will be enrolled in the same classes as NTU’s students and will have access to all facilities that are necessary for their learning at NTU campus, offering them a fulfilling experience of university life even before they graduate from their diploma course.

  • Certificate of Completion awarded by NTU School of Civil & Environmental Engineering

SP-NTU APP students will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by NTU School of Civil & Environmental Engineering upon successful completion of the three NTU courses.

  • Transfer of Credit and Grade to NTU

After graduating from SP DCE, SP-NTU APP students will need to apply to NTU if he/she wants to secure a place in NTU Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (BEng Civil) degree programme. SP-APP students can choose to transfer the credits and NTU grades for the courses that they passed when they are admitted to the NTU BEng Civil degree programme in the future.

 

How do I apply?

  • Eligible students will be notified via email when the SP-NTU APP is launched.
  • Eligible students will need to go through a merit-based selection process and attend an interview conducted by NTU’s faculty members.
