Amazing Science X Challenge 2015

02 Oct 2015

On 15 to 18 September 2015, a team of three Diploma in Applied Chemistry with Pharmaceutical Science (DACP) students: Lee Jian Hui, Salena Yip Mei Ting and Kweh Juet Wee, took part in the Category D of the Amazing Science X Challenge (AXSC) 2015 and won the Bronze Medal.

The Category D of the ASXC is a competition that challenges teams of three participants from various tertiary institutions to design and build an innovative and interactive exhibit that best explains a physical science phenomenon. The DACP students managed to use their creativity to construct an exhibit that demonstrates the physical properties of sound waves. This exhibit is able to showcase different wave patterns on paraffin oil by letting the audiences generate sound waves of different frequencies. This challenge has given students the opportunity to discover the importance of physical sciences in everyday application and is definitely a very rewarding experience for both students and staff.
