Innovating into the heart of the judges through their stomachs

19 Apr 2018

Food Innovation Product Awards (FIPA) 2018 opened with SP sending 9 out of 23 teams vying for this award. As part of the programme, Food Science & Technology students collaborated with companies to co-create new and innovative food products. Their efforts were rewarded with Jumain Sataysfaction Pte Ltd getting the Best Marketing Potential Award and the Voters’ Choice award for their Satay Bitez!

Two other groups received the Special Commendation Award: Kim Hing Food Industries Pte Ltd and Par International Holdings Pte Ltd. Students in the Kim Hing Food Industries group showcased Choco Nest – a plant-sterol fortified dark chocolate nest hugging a walnut with bird’s nest filling! A delectable dessert that is first-of-its-kind! The student team for Par International gave a healthy, local twist with a low GI BISCOTTreat infused with Singaporean flavours.

Other interesting products from SP included a non-oven cupcake mix, 2 plant-based protein alternatives (a seafood and a nugget), low GI noodles, collagen-infused bakuteh and a pau with spicy seafood filling.

Looks like we’re ready for a feast!
