MoU with Shiok Meats to advance food innovation and training

23 Nov 2020

On 23 Nov 2020, Singapore Polytechnic and Shiok Meats signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Shiok Meat’s launch of the world’s first cell-based lobster meat prototype - ‘Shiok Lobster’. This collaboration is set to advance food innovation, R&D efforts and training in the cell-based meat and seafood sector.

This means more internship placements and on-the-job training for staff and students from the Diploma in Food Science & Technology (DFST) including opportunities for student projects and CET training programmes. On top of that, there will be more support for research and development efforts on food innovation, alternative proteins, food safety and processing.
