08 Apr 2024

In an exciting partnership between MINDEF and Singapore Polytechnic, the pilot SP-DCDF-DIS Work-Learn Scheme is introduced, offering final year students in Diploma in Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics (DCDF) a unique opportunity to fast-track their career journey. This pioneering scheme integrates with students’ compulsory internship academic requirements while also enabling them to fulfil their National Service obligations.

Successful applicants will serve a combination of full-time NS and Regular service as Cyber Specialists.

Who is it for?

  • Male DCDF students
  • National Service (NS) pre-enlistees
  • Individuals with baseline knowledge and skills in cybersecurity

Upon completion of a minimum service period, Cyber Specialists will receive competitive Regular salary and will be entitled to Regular benefits such as leave and medical coverage, all while ensuring they ORD at the same time as their peers.

MINDEF has also partnered with local universities to offer an undergraduate work-learn programme for Cyber Specialists to continuously upgrade their skills and competencies. They can enroll in cybersecurity modules on a part-time basis at either the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) or the National University of Singapore (NUS), earning academic credits that can contribute towards the eventual completion of the degree. The work experience and qualifications gained will position Cyber Specialists well for a career in the cybersecurity industry.
