Dear Students and Prospective Students,
Welcome to the SP School of Business (SB), one of the first established business schools among the polytechnics, with our inception dating back to 1986. Our extensive history is marked by a tradition of excellence and a broad network of successful alumni who now contribute as industry partners and mentors, enriching our students’ educational journey.
At SB, we offer an industry-relevant, applied, and practical learning experience, in and outside the classroom. From 2025, all Year 1 students will participate in our flagship module, Business Essentials Through Action. This hands-on module will immerse you in essential business disciplines such as Marketing, Human Resources, Negotiation Skills, and Accounting, while you simultaneously ideate and operate a real business with a $1,000 seed fund.
We have created this because we understand the critical importance of nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset in our students—a key competency that unlocks business value that creates good social impact for communities, in any organization or venture that can only be honed through applied practice. A robust entrepreneurial mindset is essential for your future success, setting you apart from your peers, whether you choose to innovate within a company or launch your own enterprise.
During your three-years at SB, we will strengthen your entrepreneurial mindset with practical domain knowledge. Regardless of your chosen course, you will have the chance to visit organizations through learning journeys, interact with thought leaders from various business sectors, and learn about international business diversification through study trips abroad.
Students will also develop their skills as business consultants, working on real-client projects, and crafting business plans and proposals relevant to your diploma. Recognizing the diversity of your aspirations, we offer three pathways to explore:
- University Preparation, for those intending to further their studies at local universities.
- Entrepreneurship, for aspiring business founders, with access to potential cumulative seed funding of more than $50,000.
- Business Consultancy, for those keen to begin their careers as business consultants in their respective diploma domains.
