Duo win prizes at the SUTD Technology & Design Contest 2015

Hearty congratulations to Fong Jia Yi and Tan Jing Yu William of the Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering course and their supervisor Teo Shin Jen for clinching the 3rd and merit prizes at the SUTD Technology & Design Contest 2015.

Based on the theme, Design a Device for Smarter Living, Jia Yi's novel bus stop alarm system designed for commuters who travel on long bus journeys won the 3rd prize. William's Internet of Things (IoT) which takes on the traditional plastic mesh food cover won a merit prize. They will be representing Singapore in the International Design Contest (IDC) Robocon 2015 which will be held at SUTD from 20 to 31 July 2015. They will pit against other universities such as MIT, Tokyo Institute of Technology.

They displayed their projects at the Maker Faire Singapore on 11 and 12 July and even demonstrated their projects to our Minister of Education, Mr Heng Swee Keat when he visited the SP booth on 11 July. We wish you all the best in IDC Robocon 2015!
