In 2016, William, a DEEE Silver medallist, claimed the honour of being the first EEE graduate to receive a PSC scholarship. The scholarship allowed him to pursue a double degree in engineering at SUTD and Business Management at SMU. William felt that his success demonstrated EEE’s ability to empower eager students to realise their potential.
Ke Ming graduated from SP with a Diploma with Merit in Computer Engineering and received offers from top universities like Stanford and Cambridge. He chose Cambridge, where he earned a prestigious scholarship. SP’s nurturing environment and robust DCPE curriculum prepared him to excel academically and venture into the finance industry.
Unlike many of his peers who did well in their GCE “O” levels and chose the JC route, Julian opted for a polytechnic education as it gave him opportunities to explore interests in engineering and a hands-on learning experience. Julian chose SP because of its advanced facilities, the pedagogical advances it has made in the teaching of engineering and a CDIO based engineering curriculum that is built on more than 60 years’ history and experience.
Kuriakin held the SP record for scoring a 4.0 GPA with distinctions in all modules taken during his three years in SP. He went on to become the first SP student to be accepted and offered a full scholarship in the Ivy League Harvard University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude in Field, Computer Science.
Ryan has come a long way since his self-professed reclusive student days in primary and secondary school, where he would, in his own words, “only focus purely on myself, my studies and my co-curricular activities, nothing else.
I developed a strong interest in microelectronics and semiconductor technology, specialising in Microelectronics Manufacturing. Through the course, I gained a strong foundation in electronics, circuit design, semiconductor devices and manufacturing processes. The specialisation gave me valuable exposure to semiconductor fabrication and device characterisation, while my 37-week internship at A*STAR’s Institute of Microelectronics allowed me to further apply these skills to Silicon Carbide power devices and real-world semiconductor research.
My experiences at SP have given me a strong technical foundation and inspired me to pursue Electrical and Electronic Engineering at NTU, with the goal of building a career in the semiconductor industry.
