MULTI-PATH SYSTEM FOR ENGINEERING, MANY DIFFERENT PATHS

Minister for Education Mr Ong Ye Kung
“Young people have diverse talents, passions and aspirations, and they can excel through a multi-path system of attaining degrees, skills or professional training outside universities.”
Mr Ong added that the “big difference”, between the new technical diploma and a polytechnic diploma is in the mode of learning. The new diploma will be apprenticeship-based
and every course will be delivered in partnership with major employers.
But he also noted that it is still possible for them to get a degree with the newer universities such as the Singapore Institute of Technology and Singapore University of Social Sciences,
where learning is more applied and relevant to work skills
