Industries have co-located facilities in SP for training next generation of workforce. Partnering industries allows our students to work with an innovative organisation to trial and pilot emerging technologies for the fast-changing world.

SP-SICK co-lab

SP-SICK Smart Sensor Lab

SP-SICK Smart Sensor Lab was set up in May 2021 under a partnership with SICK, one of the world's leading producers of sensors and sensor solutions for industrial automation applications. The aim is to produce graduates with industry-relevant competencies and skillsets in sensor and related technologies and solutions so that they would be ready to adopt and handle I4.0 technologies when they enter the workforce.

SP-Advantest Co-lab

SP-Advantest Test Engineering Centre

In June 2022, SP partnered Advantest, a global leader in the semiconductor automatic test equipment (ATE) market, to develop the SP-Advantest Test Engineering Centre, equipped with high-tech Advantest test equipment and technologies, to cultivate the local and regional talent pipeline for the semiconductor testing industry.

SP-CHINT co-lab

SP-CHINT Smart Electrical Power Training Lab

SP-CHINT Smart Electrical Power Training Lab was set up in November 2022 under a collaboration with CHINT, China’s largest clean energy supplier and energy efficiency management solution provider, to produce graduates with industry-relevant knowledge in smart energy technologies and solutions. The facility provides them direct access to CHINT’s latest high technology equipment employed in the smart energy sector, and trains them with hands-on experience in deploying energy solutions for businesses and industry.

SP-Sembcorp Solar co-lab

SP-Sembcorp PV Research Lab

In November 2022, SP partnered Sembcorp to develop the SP-Sembcorp PV Research Lab, equipped with high-tech Sembcorp equipment and technologies, to intensify research and development (R&D) efforts to improve the performance of solar PV systems, and develop innovative ways to integrate them into the urban environment.

SP-TIBCO Analytics Lab for Advanced Manufacturing

In Jan 2018, TIBCO Software Incorporated, a provider of integration, API management, and analytics software collaborated with Singapore Polytechnic to expand data analytics capabilities and knowledge in Singapore among local engineering small-medium enterprises (SME).

SP-Bosch Rexroth i4.0 Innovation Lab

In July 2018, partnership was signed with Bosch for the development of SP-Bosch Rexroth i4.0 Innovation Lab, equipped with high-tech Bosch equipment and technologies, to boost access to cutting-edge facilities related to Advanced Manufacturing.

5G Garage

5G Garage

In Jan 2019, Singtel, Ericsson and Singapore Polytechnic (SP) opened the country’s first live 5G facility, called 5G Garage, at SP’s campus. It serves as a training centre, test bed and ideation lab to develop Singapore’s 5G ecosystem and drive the adoption of 5G by enterprises in their digital transformations.

Rail system Simulator lab

SP-LTA Rail System Simulator Lab

In the Rail System Simulator Lab, an industry collaboration lab between SP and LTA, students will be immersed in an augmented learning environment. Being the only IHL equipped with this platform that integrates both hardware and software aspects of a Rapid Transit System, students can apply experiential learning to gain knowledge of how rail engineering systems works.

SP-Siemens Digital Experience Centre

On 6 November 2019 Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and Siemens Digital Industries Software officially launched the first-of-its-kind SP-Siemens Digital Experience Centre in Southeast Asia, to equip students with digitalisation skills and boost product innovation among Small and Medium businesses (SMBs) in Singapore.
