Renewing Ties with Alumni at EEE Alumni Homecoming

20 Dec 2017

A number of alumni gathered at the Homecoming Dinner organised by School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) at the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates’ Guild (SPGG). Alumni from the Diploma in Aerospace Electronics (DASE) and Diploma in Engineering with Business (DEB) gathered on 7 Dec 2017 while Alumni gathering for the Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (DEEE) was held on 8 Dec 2017. More than feasting over a sumptuous buffet spread, the dinner was a time when many rekindled their old friendships, revisited their past, and shared about their joys and achievements since they left SP. For the 30 to 50 odd alumni who were present, the evening was nostalgic, as they caught up with their classmates, chatted with their lecturers and received updates on developments from the respective Course Chairs, Chee Choong Yang, for DASE and DEB, and Goh Say Seng for DEEE. The Course Chairs spoke about the new SP AeroHub, 22-week Internship for students and flipped classroom pedagogy in the current curriculum. Mr Lee Chee Whye, Deputy Director of the School of EEE, also addressed the alumni and emphasized the need to continually upgrade one's knowledge and skills. 3 alumni guest speakers – Mr Sheam Kannan (DEEE 2013), Yee Zheng Kang (DASE 2010) and Muhammad Farhan Bin Jumadi (DASE 2008) - shared about their journeys after graduating from SP. Several current students were also present to network with the alumni and learn more about future careers or further education. The evenings ended with group photograph taking.
