Enriching Experience for EEE Visitors at Parents’ Forum 2018
13 Jun 2018
119 parents and their children visited the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) as part of Parents' Forum 2018 held on 9th June 2018. They had the opportunity to learn more about Poly education, SP courses and the different poly admission exercises, with emphasis on Early Admission Exercise (EAE) at this half-day event.
The Forum started with a talk at SPCC by Director AS followed by a visit to EEE where the parents were given a course talk and a sharing by a current EAE student.
After the talk, the parents were brought to a tour to the Advanced Robotics and Intelligent Control Centre (ARICC), where EEE Students and staff develop robotics and intelligent system solutions for applications in the logistics, healthcare, transport and edutainment industries.
The parents were given opportunity to interact with our students who had developed robots to participate in local and international robotics competitions such as RoboCup, and have won many awards over the years. The students shared their experiences in applying and integrating their knowledge and skills acquired in building these exciting robotic projects.
The parents were also brought to tour the Aviation hub to experience the A320 Flight Simulator & Maintenance Trainer, which was used to simulate aircraft operation and Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) training for our students in the Aerospace Electronics. They were also given opportunity to on board the real aircrafts at the hangar.
The parents ended their visit with a session on Course and Early Admission Exercise (EAE) Counselling at the SPCC, where refreshments were also served.
