Future Transportation Challenge 2018

School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE), in collaboration with STEM Inc, Science Centre Singapore, held a competition on assembling and programming a smart driverless vehicle using a Microcontroller-based car. The competition was held at The Hall in Singapore Polytechnic on 6th June 2018.
Briefing of rules and regulations cum training workshops for 35 teams consisting 123 secondary school students from 21 secondary schools were conducted by EEE organising team prior to the competition.
The secondary school students were required to design, assemble and program a driverless vehicle using a Microcontroller-based car to manoeuvre a challenging track in a simulated urban environment. This track consists of a mixture of linear paths, curves, and gentle slopes. Along this track there were obstacles along the path complete with a bridge. The vehicle is also required to pick up a load along the route.
