Wee Wen Bin was a EEE alumnus who achieved excellence in both academic performance (cGPA of 3.804 out of 4.000) as well as co-curricular activities (Gold with Honours).

He continued to shine at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) where he pursued his bachelor’s degree and took up roles to sharpen his leadership skills, such as the President of The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) - NTU, Vice-President of James Dyson Foundation Studio Ambassador, Logistics Director of NTU Heritage Club, and Senior Engineer at the Nanyang Venture team.

Wen Bin is also a passionate car enthusiast. As a member of the Nanyang Venture electric car team, he and his teammates constructed four electric cars in four years, including NTU's first electric formula car - known as Nanyang Venture Formula - and Nanyang Venture 12, which won the Technical Innovation Award and Vehicle Design Award at Shell Eco-Marathon Indonesia 2022. He also won first place in Asia for his 3D futuristic car model in an international competition, bagged the top prize in Singapore presented by the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) for Solid Edge CAD Design, and received the Best Design Award in the ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers)-NTU competition in 2021 and 2022.

Wen Bin recently graduated from NTU School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, where he also received the Koh Boon Hwee Scholars Award. He envisions to develop smart IoT solutions, leveraging his technological knowledge and penchant for innovation.

In fact, his first-to-market innovation received scientific patents from the US, Japan and Taiwan, and is listed on BCA's Super Low Energy Building Smart Hub - demonstrating its potential to enhance building energy management.

Wen Bin’s exemplary achievements would inspire EEE students to be innovative by leveraging the technological knowledge acquired at the workplace as well as to pursue one’s passion.
