A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was made on 26 March 2016 between NTUC Health Co-operative Ltd and Singapore Polytechnic, through the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), to collaborate in the area of community service such that SP students will plan and organise community service activities for SilverACE SACs at Henderson, Lengkok Bahru, Taman Jurong and Telok Blangah during academic term time. These SACs are drop-in centres for vulnerable elderly staying in rental housing in the lower income neighborhoods.

EEE students will head down to SACs on Wednesday afternoons to spend time with the elderly at SilverACE SACs. They will engage the elderly in activities such as tea sessions, festive celebrations, team-bonding games, arts and craft, sports and singalong sessions. Through these weekly activities, our students hope to give opportunities to the elderly to interact with each other, remain engaged in the community and feel less socially isolated.
