Student Dialogue Session
On a yearly basis, student dialogue sessions are organised with the intention of gathering students' valuable feedback on their learning experience to improve the course and module delivery. Participants are encouraged to actively share their views and suggestions in an open-minded environment.
Learning Journey for Teachers and Students
On a yearly basis, secondary school teachers and students visit MS as part of the learning journey to learn the various pedagogies adopted by MS in the teaching of mathematics and science. The visitors have a peep on learning engineering mathematics the flipped-classroom way and are introduced to the Predict-Observe-Explain (POE) pedagogy in teaching physics.
Microsoft® Office Specialist (MOS) Challenge
Microsoft® Office Specialist is a globally recognized and the premier certification for Microsoft Office suite of application software. By encouraging individuals to develop advanced skills with Microsoft's leading application software, the certification helps fill the demand for qualified knowledge workers in the modern workplace. The Microsoft® Office Specialist Examination is on a computerised, project-based format with a time limit as specified in the examination rule by Microsoft.
The School of Mathematics & Science organised the Singapore Polytechnic Microsoft® Office Specialist (MOS) Challenge. There are two categories for this competition: Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Each participant competes to score the highest mark and in the event of a tie, the shortest time will be considered. Participants who score a certain standard minimum passing mark (to be decided by Microsoft) will be eligible to receive the internationally recognised certification from Microsoft. Participants can join either or both categories. All SP participants will be awarded for the event. In addition, winners will be receiving cash prizes, trophies and additional CCA points.
The top winners of the SP Challenge in both categories will be trained and represent SP in the National competition where the emerged winners will represent Singapore to compete in the World competition. The following students from SP represented Singapore in the World Championship:
