As Singapore drives towards expanding its rail network to 360km by 2030, demand is growing for skilled rail engineering professionals who can support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of modern rapid transit systems.

Through this Diploma in Engineering (Electrical – Rapid Transit Technology), backed by industry partners SMRT and SBS Transit, you will gain specialised knowledge and skills in railway engineering, signalling systems, and electrical technologies to support your career progression in Singapore’s rapidly evolving rail sector.

Key Outcomes

Develop practical knowledge in rapid transit systems, signalling technologies, and rail operations, including ATO, ATP, and ATS systems
Apply IoT, data analytics, cybersecurity, and smart monitoring technologies to improve rail system performance, reliability, and maintenance operations
Gain hands-on skills in preventive and corrective rail systems maintenance, fault troubleshooting, and electrical and mechanical servicing of passenger trains
Learn to design, program, and troubleshoot automation, PLC, electrical installation, smart sensor, and industrial network systems used in modern rail infrastructure
