Course Objective

This course aims to train fresh ITE graduates and in-service staff with NITEC or Higher NITEC qualification to become the next generation of rail engineering professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to meet the manpower needs of Singapore’s growing rail network of 360 km by 2030.

It also aims to provide ITE engineering graduates another career progression pathway by acquiring a diploma qualification while continuing to be in the workforce, thereby retaining them in the sector, and mitigating manpower shortage faced by employers.

Minimum Requirements

  1. Applicants must not suffer from serious colour appreciation deficiency.
  2. The applicant shall be an ITE Nitec with GPA ≥ 2.0 or a Higher Nitec graduate in an engineering or information technology discipline.
  3. The applicant can be an in-service employee from the participating WSP companies, or
  4. The applicant can be an ITE Nitec or Higher Nitec fresh graduate within 5 years of graduation or within 5 years from his last day of National Service (ORD).
  5. Applicant (in-service employee from the participating WSP company) with a minimum diploma qualification in other engineering fields will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and may be subjected to interviews or tests before they can be considered for enrolment. 
  6. Applicants (in-service employee from the participating WSP company) who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.

Certification / Accreditation

 

Upon completion of five Modular Certificates (MC), participants will be conferred a Diploma qualification from Singapore Polytechnic.

This course is suitable for working adults in the rail industry who wish to deepen their expertise in rapid transit technology, as well as fresh ITE graduates with NITEC or Higher NITEC qualifications looking to start a career in rail engineering. It offers a clear pathway for career progression while enabling participants to gain specialized skills and knowledge essential for Singapore’s expanding rail network.

Application Procedure

1. For self-sponsored applicant, please click on the “Register” button to apply for the course. You will be directed to STEP portal to manage all your course activities. Please note that you will be prompted to sign in with Singpass/Student ID.
 
2. For company-sponsored applicant, please approach your company's Human Resource (HR) team to put in the application through the company portal using CorpPass.  You may only apply after receiving the registration link from your company's HR.
 
3. Your application does not guarantee acceptance into the course. Your acceptance into the course is dependent on meeting the course requirements and course vacancy.
 
4. Non‐Singaporeans must possess a valid Employment Pass / Work Permit / Dependant Pass throughout the course duration. You would need to bear the full risk of non-completion should your pass expire and subsequently lapse within the duration of the course.
 
5. You will be notified by email on the application outcome 6 weeks after the application’s closing date. 
 
6. PACE Academy course schedules, including course trainer, course fees and course availability are subject to change.

7. PACE Academy reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course at short notice; & at its absolute discretion without assigning any reason for such cancellation/postponements. In the event that the applicant’s chosen course is cancelled prior to its commencement, PACE Academy will make a full refund of course fees already paid by the applicant.
