What is this course about?
The aim of the course is to prepare the candidate for COC Class 1 Simulator and Orals examination.
Suitable for
Candidates who had accumulated the required sea time for COC Class 1 Orals and Ship handling simulation examinations after obtaining their COC Class 2 Certificate and require proper guidance and a refresh approach when sitting for their examination.
Assumed Skills and Knowledge
To prepare and provide guidance to candidates to become “thinking Master”. Candidates are to demonstrate their skills and ability to attain higher management skills so as to guide them during routine and critical decision making. As the company's representative on board, a Master should command the vessel in accordance with national and international rules and regulations and with company's policies and procedures.

Certification
Certificate of Attendance will be issued ONLY if the course participant has achieved at least 75% attendance.

Application Procedure
A - Online Registration
[1] Fill up the electronic form. For international student, please ensure your Name, date of birth, gender and nationality are key in correctly as appear in your travel document to facilitate visa/student pass application.
[2] Once completed, click on the Submit button
[3] You will receive online acknowledgement that you have successfully submitted the registration
[4] Singapore Polytechnic will then register and enrol upon payment of the fees.
B - International Student
Students should be prepared to stay in Singapore for at least 3 months.
C - Visa / Student Pass Application for International Student
Singapore Polytechnic will submit your particulars via Student Pass On-Line Application & Registration (SOLAR) system administered by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA). For more information, you may refer to https://www.ica.gov.sg/visitor/studentpass/ihl
Singapore Polytechnic does not sponsor family member. Please refer to ICA website for application procedure.
Please note that your enrolment to the course is conditional upon ICA approving your application for an entry visa AND student pass.
D - Insurance
Candidates are required to carry an overseas travel and medical insurance during their stay in Singapore.
1. All applications must be made via Online Registration at www.pace.sp.edu.sg
Course fees can be paid by the following payment modes:
a) Credit Cards, Internet Banking, NETS (Not Applicable for company sponsored)
For e-payment using Visa/Master cards and Internet Banking, please click on the ‘Make e-Payment’ button on the acknowledgement page to proceed.

c) Cheques
Please make cheques payable to “Singapore Polytechnic”. Do cross the cheque and write the Registration Reference ID, Applicant Name and NRIC/FIN number at the back of the cheque. When you have completed required details, you may mail the cheque here.
Please note that an administrative charge of $15 will be imposed for any returned cheques from the bank or financial institution.
2. All successful applicants will be notified with a letter of confirmation via email.
