Course Objective

A course for reviewing material previously studied and/or updating information or skills to keep participant abreast of professional development of Certificate of Competency. The Course is designed to comply with STCW Code Para 2 of Section A-I/11.

The course equips participants with refresher and updating of previous studies and training connected to maritime profession and to prepare participants for appearing in the Certificate of Competency (Class 3) Orals and Simulator Assessment by MPA.

The course is targeted at participants who have been found weak in MPA Orals and Simulator Assessment. By attending this refresher training, they will be able to update their previous knowledge so as to improve their competence. The course certificate will act as proof of refreshing their knowledge.

Course Outline

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 

1. Perform passage planning and navigation watch keeping
2. Prepare to appear for Class 3 Certificate of Competency Examination conducted by MPA

Minimum Requirements

Diploma for Nautical Studies or Completed CoC3 short course

Certification / Accreditation


• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate

• Certificate of Completion (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate
