Course Objective

This course is a pre-requisite module to Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health.

This course aims to address the need for Workplace Safety and Health Supervisor and Workplace Safety and Health Coordinator to deliver effective and engaging presentations for a variety of audiences.

Course Outline

In alignment with Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC), at the end of the course, participants will be able to: 

1. Establish the target audience profile, objectives and key issues for presentation
2. Prepare structured presentation plans to address the objectives and key issues
3. Set up the resources for presentations
4. Deliver presentations with clarity and manage dynamic context during presentations.
5. Address concerns and receive feedback in a positive manner
6. Follow up with the necessary actions

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet any of the following entry requirement that are aligned to that for Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health.

Track 1
  • A recognised Technology/Science-related diploma / Engineering degree; AND
  • At least 2 years of WSH relevant working experience

OR

Track 2
  • Possess ES Workplace Literacy (Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking) Level 6 or GCE 'O' Level English grade C6; AND
  • Possess ES Workplace Numeracy Level 6 or GCE'O' Level Maths grade C6, or Mathematics bridging course; AND
  • Possess GCE 'O' Level Science (Physics) grade C6, or Physics bridging course; AND
  • Possess WSH skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Advanced Certificate in WSH; AND
  • At least 2 years of post-qualification3 working experience as WSH Supervisor, Coordinator or similar occupational role

OR

Track 3
  • Possess ES Workplace Literacy (Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking) Level 6 or GCE 'O' Level English grade C6; AND
  • Possess ES Workplace Numeracy Level 6 or GCE 'O' Level Maths grade C6, or Mathematics bridging course; AND
  • Possess GCE 'O' Level Science (Physics) grade C6, or Physics bridging course; AND
  • Possess WSH skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Advanced Certificate in WSH; AND
  • At least 5 years of WSH-related working experience, 2 years of which should be recent working experience, for example as a WSH Supervisor / Coordinator

Certification / Accreditation

Statement of Attainment
  • A Statement of Attainment will be awarded to participants who pass the assessment and meet at least 75% attendance rate
  • Participants will be able to download their Statement of Attainment from MySkillsFuture Portal here.
