This course is designed to equip participants with essential knowledge and awareness of current and emerging technologies, specifically tailored to benefit the manufacturing industry. Participants will gain insights into how these technologies are transforming the manufacturing sector, enhancing efficiency, reducing production costs, and improving product quality. Additionally, they will develop understanding of cybersecurity risks and strategies to safeguard manufacturing processes and data.

Course Objective

This course incorporates various learning methods such as videos, case-study discussions, and action learning sets. Through these activities, participants will gain a series of learning points that they can actively apply to their organisations or personal development.

This course focuses on achieving functional outcomes, including the ability to analyse and interpret data, use digital tools to evaluate manufacturing processes and machinery, perform basic cybersecurity actions, and find and interpret information online. These skills encompass tasks such as understanding customer preferences, assessing machinery performance, setting up network security measures, identifying phishing emails, and conducting online research for upskilling opportunities.

Overall, this course aims to enhance participants' digital skills and prepare them for the evolving digital workplace in the manufacturing industry.

By the end of the Course, participants will be able to:

  2. Perform basic cybersecurity actions to safeguard manufacturing asset
  3. Retrieve and interpret online information for enhancing manufacturing operations and processes
  4. Employ digital tools to assess and enhance manufacturing processes, fostering operational excellence
