Course Objective

This Specialist Diploma supports upskilling needs of the current workforce in the Human Resource (HR) industry. Given Singapore's rapidly changing employment landscape, workplace and career counselling is crucial, providing socioemotional support to employees and improve their psychological wellbeing. They will also develop greater self-awareness in discovering their career interests and preferences, as well as assess work motivations based on their strengths and capabilities for higher employability.

Additionally, in recent years, Mental Health Awareness in the workplace has grown, both public and private sectors. More companies have also adopted an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) as part of welfare benefits. Some include access to individual counselling sessions employees can financially claim for, as well as other services like mental health workshops. In view of this initiative, this specialist diploma aims developing more Managers and Para-Counsellors in the public and private sectors, equipped with contemporary tools and micro skills in overall Workplace Counselling.
