This course aims to train personnel to be competent Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) coordinator under the WSH Qualifications framework.

The competency-based course covers comprehensively the WSH policy, WSH management system, implementation of emergency preparedness and response plans, accident investigation techniques, monitoring of WSH performance and WSH culture development.

2. Identify WSH Hazards and Implement Control Measures
3. Coordinate WSH Management System with Legal Compliance
4. Investigate and Report WSH Incident
5. Coordinate Implementation of Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan
6. Measure, Monitor and Report WSH Performance
7. Promote WSH Culture Development
8. Facilitate Effective Communication and Engagement at the Workplace

 

Two electives which will be offered to participants (subject to changes):
1. Supervise WSH in Construction Industries
2. Solve Problems and Make Decisions at Supervisory Level

Note: Participants are required to undertake continuous assessments, assignments and written test.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants are expected to possess the following:

1. ES Workplace Literacy (Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking) and Numeracy Level 5; OR
2. GCE 'N' Level English & Mathematics grade 5; AND
3. WSH skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Certificate in WSH; AND
4. Have at least 1 year of WSH relevant working experience

Note: Participants who are certified competent for Level B should obtain at least 2 years of post-qualification work experience or equivalent before they are able to register for Level C

Certification / Accreditation

Participants will be awarded the WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health if they achieved 75% attendance rate as well as certified competent through all assessments required by the course.

Suitable for

Personnel whose job responsibility involves supervising, coordinating WSH matters or implementing WSH programmes.

SSG Funding (80%) - Baseline funding for Singaporeans aged below 40 and Singapore Permanent Residents $2,816.00 $950.40
Mid-Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES) (90%) - For Singapore citizens aged 40 and above $3,168.00 $598.40
Small Medium Enterprise (SME) Funding (90%) - Local employees (SC or SPR) sent by small-and-medium-sized enterprises (SME) for training $3,168.00 $598.40

Funding Incentives

1. SSG Funding

Eligibility Criteria:
a) Singaporean or Permanent Residents (Company or Self Sponsored)
b) Sponsoring companies must be registered and/or incorporated in Singapore and must fully sponsor the course fee
c) Participants must:
i. achieve at least 75% attendance
ii. Complete and certified competent through all required assessments
iii. Complete post-training surveys conducted between 3-6 months after course end

Participants who have been granted the SkillsFuture funding but fail to meet the above requirements would be liable for the subsidised course fee.

2. Absentee Payroll Funding

Companies can claim absentee payroll funding when they sponsor their employees for the academic CET programmes.

Please ensure you have the following documents with you during online application as documents are to be uploaded to complete the application:

1. Photocopy (back and front) of NRIC for Singaporeans and PRs, or 'Employment' / 'S' Pass for foreign applicants

2. Copies of your academic certificate/result slip/ transcript (GCE 'N','O' Certificate, Diploma, Degree, WPLN SOA)

3. Copies of certificates of training in WSH or other related areas attended

4. Letter from current employer with designation, duration of employment and job description relating to WSH

5. Completed CV including current and all past jobs with designation, name of employer, duration of employment and job description

IMPORTANT: Applications without ALL of the above required supporting documents will be considered incomplete and rejected. Singapore Polytechnic regrets that we will not be able to inform individual applicants of the incomplete documentation nor disclose the reasons for selection/non-selection of applicants.
