The course provides a platform to promote better and greener practices in plastics recycling. It covers the different type of plastics between sustainable plastics, including techniques on recycling and composting and hands-on on plastic synthesis and recycling processes.

Course Objective

The course aims to provide technical training on the processing and characterisation of plastics recycling. Participants will learn how to transform and upcycle post-consumer plastic waste into new source of materials in renewable and sustainable ways.

Course Outline

By the end of the course, participants will be able to: 
1. Identify different conventional plastics.
2. Compare and contrast between conventional and sustainable plastics.
3. Analyse different post-consumer plastics for recycling and composting.
4. Demonstrate plastic synthesis and recycling processes through hands-on experiment.

Topics to be covered

1. Fundamentals of conventional and sustainable polymers
2. Technology trends in recycling, upcycling and composting
3. Practical demonstration
4. Assessment of skills and/or knowledge

Minimum Requirements

Possess basic command of English.

Certification / Accreditation

• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate

• Certificate of Performance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Performance will be awarded to participants who pass the examination and meet at least 75% attendance rate
