After attending this course, participants will be more aware of practical legal issues relating to starting and/or running a business.

Course Objective

The purpose of this 2-day course on Practical Perspectives on Law for Business is to raise awareness of some common legal issues relating to doing business and to provide a practical perspective (real legal examples and case studies) for new entrepreneurs and business owners.

Course Outline

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

1. Explain the legal implications in the registration and winding up of a business.
2. Describe clauses in commercial contracts.
3. Apply aspects on Intellectual property on the business

Topics to be covered

1. Legal aspects of business organisations
2. Commercial contracts clauses and its legal implications.
3. Employment and Tort law
4. Issues on confidentiality
5. Insolvency, voluntary winding up of business
6. Vitiating factors

Minimum Requirements

Conversant in the English language.

Certification / Accreditation

• Certificate of Attendance (electronic Certificate will be issued)
A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to participants who meet at least 75% attendance rate
