Synopsis

Efficient energy storage is key to the utilization of intermittent renewable energies, such as solar energy. Lithium-ion batteries are common, yet too costly for many. An all-iron battery, which stores energy via redox reactions instead, could be a safe and cheap alternative. For this project, the team studied factors affecting battery performance and battery design optimisation.
