EXAM RESULTS AND APPEALS

APPEAL PROCEDURES

All appeals should be lodged within 4 working days from the release date of the Examinations Results. Scroll down and click on red banner below titled "EXAMINATION RESULTS" for detailed timing of release by School.

Appeal for Review of Module Grade in the Semester Examination

Purpose of appeal: For the review of module grade

NOTE: ALL APPEALS SHOULD BE LODGED WITHIN 4 WORKING DAYS AFTER THE RELEASE OF THE EXAMINATION RESULTS THROUGH SAS or EMAIL.

  • The review would only involve checking to ensure that there are no mistakes in the marking or in the adding up of the marks. There would be no re-marking or re-grading of the answer scripts as doing so at this juncture would be out of context with no relative comparison with the rest of the class. In order to maintain consistency of assessment for all students, the Polytechnic therefore does not allow re-marking unless certain parts of the answer were not taken into account in the original assessment.
  • E-Appeal forms must be submitted via SP Website > eServices > E-Services > For Students > e-Services/e-Resources > Examinations > Appeal for Review of Module Grade (click here for shortcut).
  • An online payment of $25 + GST per module is required.
  • Please note that only ONE appeal can be submitted. No re-appeals are permitted.
  • Please note that form must be duly completed and submitted online.
  • The Examinations Office will notify the student about the outcome of the appeal by post.
    * Students should not assume that their appeal is successful unless informed by the Examinations Office.

Appeal against Removal from Course

  • E-Appeal forms must be submitted via SP Website > eServices > E-Services > For Students > e-Services/e-Resources > Examinations > Appeal against Removal from Course (click here for shortcut).
  • All appeals should be submitted within 4 working days after the release of the Examination Results.
  • Please note that form must be duly completed and submitted online.
  • Please note that only ONE appeal can be lodged. No re-appeals are permitted.
  • The Examinations Office will notify the student about the outcome of the appeal by post.
    * Students should not assume that their appeal is successful unless informed by the Examinations Office.
