FAS for Overseas Programmes

Singapore Polytechnic (SP) supports deserving students and students from lower income families benefit from overseas experiences by providing them with financial subsidies to support the overseas trips.

Students who meet the criteria may apply for one of the below Overseas Programmes Subsidies.

Successful applicants will be notified of their application via their iChat email addresses.

SPOP Funding

The SPOP funding supports students in Overseas Internships Attachment (OIA)/ Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP). Each eligible student can receive the SPOP funding only once during the course of study.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident#
  • GPA of 2.5 and above
  • Full-time Diploma
  • Completed at least 1 year of diploma studies at the point of commencing the overseas programme

# Permanent Resident returning to home country is not eligible for SPOP Funding

GLO Funding

SP offers the GLO funding to encourage students from lower income families to participate in Overseas Internships Attachment (OIA) and Overseas Immersion Programme (OIP).

For OIA and OIP, the student has to be granted SPOP funding before he/ she is eligible for GLO funding.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Singapore Citizen
  • Full-time Diploma
  • Gross monthly household per capita income (PCI*) of $2,500 and below or gross household income (GHI^) of $10,000 and below

Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA)

Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA)

In addition to the above financial subsidies, students can also use the Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) to pay for their overseas trip cost.

  1. The Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) Form shall be submitted within 2 weeks after the trip If student wish to use his/her own and/or sibling's PSEA account for approved charges incurred for his/ her Overseas Academic Programme.
    Please submit online form via: PSEA Adhoc Withdrawal
    Student is required to login with SingPass to access the e-Form.

    This e-Form is to be completed by either:
    The parent if the student (account holder) is below 21 years old; or
    The student (account holder) is 21 years old and above.

     
  2. Please call the MOE Hotline at Tel: 6260 0777 to confirm if the student (account holder) has a Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) before submitting the application.

  3. The processing of payment for PSEA Withdrawal will take about 4 months and students would be informed of the outcome.

  4. MOE / SP will not be able to process the application if there is incorrect information provided.
