DIPLOMA IN ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING (S99, DEEE)

Laboratories Supporting Robotics & Control Specialisation

Smart Sensors and Actuators

Smart Sensors and Actuators

Students will learn broad knowledge of various types of smart sensors and a deep understanding of the principle and application of smart sensors and actuators in automation and process industries. The application of smart sensors will provide improvement in automation, communication and monitoring, along with self-diagnosis and new levels of analysis to provide a truly productive future.
Programmable Logic Controller Applications

Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Applications

Students will learn the architecture and working principles of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). Training sets comprises the PLC CPU, I/O modules, interface modules and I/O devices. To better link to industrial application, the PLC programming software is in line with industrial standard IEC 61131-3 languages. Typical PLC applications are created using the PLC and related facilities (remote I/O, motor drive, communication module) as well as touch panels as Human Machine Interface (HMI)
Robotics, Automation and Control Hub

Robotics, Automation & Control Hub

The Robotics, Automation & Control Hub develops automation and robotics solutions to meet the needs of the Singapore’s industry ranging from manufacturing industries, infrastructure inspection, logistics, health care, transport, and edutainment industries, with technologies such as autonomous robots, collaborative robots, social robots, big data analytics, augmented reality, IIoT, horizontal and vertical integration.
