Coupling business knowledge and skills with engineering expertise is a competitive advantage for graduates from the Diploma in Engineering with Business (DEB) in the contemporary world. In line with the national SkillsFuture movement, many of the DEB graduates have leveraged on the multi-disciplinary curriculum offered by the course to take advantage of a wide range of career and further education opportunities to enhance mastery of their skills and realise their aspirations.

Upon graduation, DEB students are well-suited for a wide range of careers in the following (but not limited to) areas:

  • Assistant Engineer (Product Design/Development)
  • Assistant Engineer (Project)
  • Business Development Executive
  • Customer Relationship Management Executive
  • Entrepreneur
  • Procurement Executive
  • Sales and Marketing Executive

Most of our engineering fresh graduates will begin their career as an Assistant Engineer, progress to Engineer and then advance to Senior Engineer after they have gained technical experience in the field. Opportunity for growth and advancement to management position is possible after they have worked as a Senior Engineer for few years by becoming a Manager, taking up greater responsibility and challenges to hone their people management skills.

I can further my education

All SP EEE diploma courses (DASE, DCPE, DEEE, DEB) enjoy Advanced Placement Credits (Microsoft Word - APCs-for-Accredited-Dip_CDE-ENG-CEG_AY23-24.docx (nus.edu.sg)) to the NUS Computer Engineering programme.

Graduates from all SP EEE diploma courses (DASE, DCPE, DEEE, DEB) are eligible to apply to NUS Computer Science Degree Programme as long as they meet the required mathematics pre-requisites. DASE, DCPE and DEB graduates can get additional module exemptions. NUS Computing - Exemptions for Polytechnic graduates

As a DEB graduate, you may be offered direct entry/advanced standing at local and overseas universities respectively.
