WHAT YOU'LL STUDY

 

 

The SP Business Administration Course is a three-year full-time programme.  In your first year, you will build a strong foundation in business studies taught through engaging pedagogies such as act-learn-build, design thinking, flipped classroom and case-based methods. 

In Year 2, you’ll embark on your journey into specialisation while strengthening your business fundamentals and refining sought-after skills in key domain areas such as finance, business analytics, digital marketing, operations, business strategy and sustainability. These modules provide invaluable insights, guiding you to make informed choices for subsequent semesters whilst ensuring exposure to a diverse spectrum of knowledge. You will have the freedom to choose specialisation modules from three specialisations, dealing with a broad-based range of industries. 

Your third year is when you thrive, completing more core and specialisation modules. You work on applied industry projects and embark on exciting internships with our industry partners who are passionate about grooming new talent.

All these will help develop you into a successful interdisciplinary graduate with depth of expertise in your respective specialties and breadth of business knowledge across essential business disciplines.

DBA’s IE specialisation modules draws on determined students who wish to dive into entrepreneurial learning early, focusing on building an enterprising mind-set, critical business & negotiation skills as well as practical knowledge to kick-start and manage businesses.

Supercharge your problem-solving skills in marketing, e-commerce, and business development through other core DBA modules and you may have the chance to run your own business in Year 3 whilst gaining hands-on experience through competitions, hackathons, possible financing, mentorship, overseas trips and more!

Digital Marketing & Branding (DMB)

 

Marketing & Branding both play a pivotal role in any business, by shaping brand image and attracting customers. Through DBA’s Digital Marketing & Branding (DMB) specialisation modules, students will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on experiences, crafting innovative digital marketing campaigns embedded with performance marketing tactics to set brands/products apart in competitive markets.

Students will explore the psychology of consumer behaviour, enabling effective product enhancements, crafting engaging digital content messages, and leveraging on real-time campaign and consumer data to design impactful data-driven strategies. Students will also master the art of cultivating emotive and endearing brand identities, crucial for forging lasting consumer connections.

DBA graduates who take on DMB specialisation modules are prepared for diverse roles in digital marketing, social media management, event planning, advertising, and public relations. They enter the workforce confidently as skilled marketing professionals, equipped to leverage on consumer data & digital trends effectively in this dynamic industry.

International Trade & Operations (ITO)

 

International trade plays a crucial role in Singapore's economic landscape, serving as a key driver for sustained growth and prosperity. Positioned as the preferred business hub for multinational companies and a major port in Asia, Singapore requires skilled professionals to navigate the complexities of global trade effectively.

DBA’s International Trade & Operations (ITO) specialisation modules have been designed to cultivate talents essential for critical functions within international trade, with a focus on business and economic sustainability. The course emphasises on real-world applications, from enhancing business operation processes to optimising logistics operations, inventory management, and implementing supply chain automation and analytics supporting and providing comprehensive insights into the ever-evolving landscape of international trade and commerce.

Graduates can explore diverse career opportunities in international trade and operations such as Global Supply Chain Management, Operations, International Business Development, International Relations, Project, and Quality Management.  ITO graduates will be well-equipped to launch their careers with versatile and agile skill sets, effectively navigating the exciting global business environment.

These modules for DBA students lets you start a real business in your first year of studies! You and your classmates will create, develop, launch and manage a non-profit enterprise for a cause of your choice, fully funded by SP. This process of building a foundation in business skills is continued with School of Business Incorporated (SBI 1 & 2), a year-long core module in year two that simulates the operations and growth of a business.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

  • Course Structure for students starting intake in academic year 2024/25.
  • Course Structure subject to change.
  • Year 2 students heading into Year 3, will embark on their internship either in semester 1 or semester 2. Internship programme for semester 1 and 2 will commence in the second week of the March and September vacation respectively. 
  • All DBA Year 2 students going into Year 3, MUST take note of the internship period before planning for vacation travels. The internship periods is administered poly-wide. Students are informed to avoid applying for leave for personal holiday trips, club activities, camps, and Learning Express Programme during internship. 

    Internship Periods for AY2024/25:

    Semester 1: 11 March 2024 to 8 August 2024

    Semester 2: 9 September 2024 to 7 February 2025

     

    Internship Periods for AY2025/26 (tentative):
